SRP supports Giving Tuesday by giving back

Since 1903, SRP has helped ensure the economic development of the region through reliable access to water and power. Giving Tuesday is coming up on Dec. 3 so we wanted to share just how strong the spirit of giving is with our employees and within the community.

SRP gives back year-round

It’s that time of year when companies everywhere promote Black Friday sales and Cyber Monday deals. Many Americans can tell you where to get the best pre-holiday price on a 55-inch 4K HDR Smart OLED TV with AI. But relatively few can tell you about the companies making the biggest effort to do good in their communities.

That’s where Giving Tuesday comes in. This little sister of Black Friday and Cyber Monday is a global effort that promotes and encourages more good and more giving back.

SRP employees giving back to the community totaled over 1 million last year

SRP is a nonprofit committed to the communities where our employees and customers work and live. This commitment takes the shape of education services that support local teachers, multicultural programs to increase high school graduation rates, community giving, and volunteer and donation efforts from employees.

To celebrate the spirit of giving back, in 2019, our employees donated $1.6 million from their own paychecks to local nonprofits. They also volunteered 45,000 hours of their time. While we wait for other totals to roll in from 2019, see how SRP helped strengthen the community last year.
