Our ever-growing electric vehicle fleet is expanding further with the new addition of electric pickup trucks. There are now 19 electric pickup trucks in service, which include the Ford F-150 Lightning and Chevy Silverado EV, with an additional 19 preparing to enter SRP’s service fleet.
Corporate fleet sustainability
To reach our goal of achieving a 30% carbon emission reduction of our fleet by 2035, we’re addressing our fleet of corporate vehicles. We currently have over 250 electric or hybrid vehicles in our fleet, from sedans to forklifts.
Operating an electric pickup truck compared to a traditional gasoline-powered truck results in a significant carbon emissions reduction. In their first year of use, the electric pickup trucks have traveled 65,000 miles, supporting multiple SRP crews across the company.
“Electrification of the light-duty fleet pickups allows for essential SRP work to be performed with significantly lower carbon emissions. The availability of the trucks on the market allows for a significant portion of the fleet to be electrified.” – Brendan King, Senior Engineering Manager, SRP
Considering going electric?
With more electric vehicle (EV) options hitting the market, you may be considering going electric yourself. We offer resources, rebates and more to support drivers who are ready to make the switch. Not only are EVs a more sustainable option, they have a lower-cost “fuel” source and require less maintenance.
