In Arizona, we depend on winter snow runoff to flow through our northeastern mountains, valleys, rivers and streams — known as a watershed — into our reservoirs. When fire scorches the earth, water runs across the soil faster. This brings more dirt, sediment and other debris into our reservoirs, causing water quality and supply issues for communities across the state.
It’s irrigation season in the Valley and the SRP Water Services team created a contest for our customers to share their irrigation tips and spread the irrigation love. Here’s a collection of the yards and lives flourishing from the water that started high in the mountains of Arizona, ending as irrigation on original SRP lands.
