Incre\u00edblemente, unos a\u00f1os antes, y en los a\u00f1os \u00ablluviosos\u00bb que siguieron, el nivel del agua del lago estar\u00eda 50 pies por encima de mi cabeza.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Desde entonces, los inviernos lluviosos han rellenado abundantemente el lago m\u00e1s grande del sistema SRP, pero la sequ\u00eda contin\u00faa prevaleciendo en Arizona.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Debido a que m\u00e1s de 3 millones de residentes dependen de nuestro suministro de agua para vivir, trabajar y divertirse en el Valle, muchos tienen preguntas sobre la falta de lluvias y c\u00f3mo afecta nuestras vidas.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfQu\u00e9 es la sequ\u00eda?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Los desiertos son paisajes de escasa vegetaci\u00f3n, calor extremo y escasas precipitaciones. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.srpnet.com\/es\/control-red-de-agua\/control-del-agua\/recursos-de-agua\">La sequ\u00eda<\/a> se produce cuando la peque\u00f1a cantidad de lluvia esperada se reduce dr\u00e1sticamente.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La sequ\u00eda se define como un per\u00edodo de tiempo con precipitaciones reducidas. Los meteor\u00f3logos determinan la sequ\u00eda bas\u00e1ndose en las precipitaciones, las condiciones de la tierra y el caudal de los r\u00edos.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si no te hubiera dicho que actualmente el Valle atraviesa una sequ\u00eda extrema, \u00bflo habr\u00edas adivinado? De acuerdo con el <a href=\"https:\/\/new.azwater.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Departamento de Recursos H\u00eddricos de Arizona (en ingl\u00e9s)<\/a>, Arizona ha experimentado tres sequ\u00edas graves en los \u00faltimos 120 a\u00f1os: una a principios del siglo 19, otra en la d\u00e9cada de 1950 y la sequ\u00eda actual que ha durado 24 a\u00f1os.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Los impactos de la sequ\u00eda&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Los impactos de la sequ\u00eda pueden ser inmediatos. Se requiere una planificaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s significativa para abastecer de agua a los residentes a\u00f1o tras a\u00f1o.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">C\u00f3mo se prepara SRP para afrontar la sequ\u00eda en el desierto\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>El \u00e1rea metropolitana de Phoenix est\u00e1 bien posicionada para sobrevivir sequ\u00edas prolongadas. Esto se debe al suministro de agua de SRP, la planificaci\u00f3n proactiva y el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cap-az.com\/home\/esp-about-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Proyecto de Arizona Central (CAP).<\/a> Suponemos que cada a\u00f1o es el comienzo del siguiente per\u00edodo de sequ\u00eda.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De hecho, SRP gestiona las aguas superficiales y subterr\u00e1neas para que duren 11 a\u00f1os secos continuos. Esto nos permite comprender diferentes modelos clim\u00e1ticos alrededor del mundo, lo que nos ayuda a hacer mejores pron\u00f3sticos para nuestro clima \u00fanico en Arizona.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los modelos clim\u00e1ticos son importantes porque predicen qu\u00e9 cambios pueden afectar a Arizona durante los pr\u00f3ximos 50 a\u00f1os o m\u00e1s.
