COVID-19 update: We’re here to help

covid-19-update-to-customers

(Updated July 20, 2020) We recognize that many of our customers have been, and continue to be, impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. To help protect our customers, we began pausing service disconnections and waiving late payment fees in March.

To support you during this difficult time, we will continue to pause disconnections through Sept. 30.

Despite not turning power off for non-payment right now, customers will still be charged for the electricity they use. It’s important to keep paying your bill to avoid accumulating debt.

If you are having trouble paying your bill for any reason, call SRP as soon as possible.

If you are having a hard time paying your bill for any reason, please let us know now as soon as possible. We have programs and resources that may help you.

Although service disconnections will not return until Oct. 1, we will begin returning to our normal late payment fee policy next month. Starting in August, if the amount due on your bill is not paid by the due date, late payment fees will apply – unless you are enrolled in our Economy Price Plan.

We will continue to waive late payment fees for customers receiving our Economy Price Plan monthly discount for the time being.

Flexible payment plans are available

To avoid late payment fees, call SRP now at (602) 236-8888 to set up a payment plan.

Our customer service representatives are available 24 hours a day at (602) 236-8888. We have programs, community partners and resource counselors ready to support you.

On Oct. 1, if you owe more than $80 and are not enrolled in a payment plan already, you will be auto-enrolled in an eight-month payment plan. You will see the details of this plan on your October bill.

Save $23 per month with the Economy Price Plan discount

SRP’s Economy Price Plan is offered year-round, but we want to make sure you know about it now. If you qualify, you get a $23 monthly discount on your bill.

Depending on how many people live in your home and how much everyone earns, you may qualify for this monthly discount. See if you qualify.

See if you qualify for federal funds to pay your energy bill

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps income-qualified households pay their energy bills. Call (602) 236-8888 today to speak with a resource counselor to see if you qualify.

What does this mean for M-Power customers?

Just like customers who receive a monthly bill, M-Power customers will not be disconnected through Sept. 30.

Don’t fall victim to a scam

Unfortunately, in times like these, scammers are targeting our customers. Here are ways to spot a scam.

Remember, SRP will never:

  • Call you to threaten disconnection within an hour
  • Demand immediate payment with a prepaid card
  • Show up at your home and request access indoors
  • Ask for sensitive data through email or over the phone

Helping each other

Some customers have asked how they can help others during this time.

SRP customers interested in helping those in need can partner with us and the Salvation Army through SHARE: Service to Help Arizonans with Relief on Energy.

For every dollar donated to SHARE, SRP will make a matching donation. SRP donates a minimum of $500,000 per year to the SRP Bill Assistance program. This program helps limited-income customers pay their energy bills. Together, we can make twice the difference.

Of course, we are also here to help. If you have questions or need help paying your electric bill, call us 24/7/365 at (602) 236-8888.
