SRP named among Forbes America’s Best Employers

SRP has been named one of America’s Best Employers by Forbes and Statista. SRP was ranked No. 81 overall among large companies with more than 5,000 employees, up from No. 189 in 2018.

“Since our founding in 1903, SRP has been guided by a culture of service – service to our customers, service to our community and service to our employees,” said General Manager and CEO Mike Hummel. “It’s our honor to be recognized by the very people who dedicate their work to ensuring we can continue to move Arizona forward. We are proud to reciprocate that dedication with a forward-thinking culture and benefits that serve the needs of all our employees and their families.”

This is the second year SRP has appeared as a Forbes Best Employer.

A legacy of SRP benefits and culture

“SRP’s ranking is a testament to the employees who work together each day to provide water and power to our customers,” said Renée Castillo, Senior Director, Human Resources, at SRP. “As a company, we work to provide our employees with competitive benefits and a supportive environment. Seeing these results – which are ranked by an independent third party surveying employees – means that our incredible team feels recognized.”

For more than 100 years, SRP has led the Valley in employee benefits including retirement pension, adoption-assistance, four-week paid parental leave and other modern benefits designed to meet employee needs at every life stage. These benefits include:

  • 401(k) plan with employer matching
  • Retirement pension
  • Paid vacation
  • Holiday pay
  • Sick leave
  • Medical, vision, dental and life insurance
  • Wellness programs
  • Pre-tax benefits
  • Long and short term disability insurance plans
  • Tuition assistance

Businesses don’t offer these types of benefits and rewards for no reason; things like this make employees feel appreciated, leading to better work productivity, morale, and loyalty to the company they’re working for.
