Classroom grants for teachers

The deadline for teachers to apply for a Classroom Connections Grant from SRP is fast approaching. Please pass this information along to the teachers in your life and encourage them to apply by Feb. 28.

Each year, SRP provides more than $200,000 in direct funding to teachers. We hope to help them bring innovative projects into their classrooms through the Classroom Connections grants program.

In total, SRP contributes more than $1.4 million to education initiatives annually. According to Kevin Rolfe, Senior Community Activation Strategist, this includes SRP Touchdowns for Teachers™, teacher grants and funding through partnerships throughout the state.

“We’re proud to support Arizona teachers and we’re making sure that teachers have the tools they need to engage, inspire and prepare students for cutting-edge careers.”

2-4-6-8, let us help you innovate!

Classroom grants have been used in a variety of ways, from everyday necessities to out-of-this-world projects.

In past years, we have seen educators use the funding to purchase advanced technology, including VR kits that allow students to virtually visit real-life locations such as the International Space Station and ancient Rome. Other teachers have purchased 3D printers, STEM kits and programming robotics kits.

What’s even better, is that these resources are often used to benefit students year after year. The resourcefulness of teachers knows no bounds!

“The materials SRP provides in workshops are used by teachers over multiple years. It becomes part of their curriculum. That’s what we strive for,” said Rolfe.
