Yes, Theodore Roosevelt Dam is an awe-inspiring sight, especially during a spillway test. The truth is, it serves a much more important purpose. As the cornerstone of a massive water storage and delivery system, the dam protects one of the desert’s most precious resources – water.
The water that comes out of our tap makes quite a journey from the Arizona watershed. Arizona lakes and dams help us control the flow, manage a resilient supply and confidently plan for the years ahead.
We take a lot of pride in the fact that Arizona statehood and SRP have a long-standing relationship. And honestly, Roosevelt Dam has just about everything to do with that. And although this dam usually steals the show, there are other dams in SRP’s eco-system.
