SRP named one of Arizona’s most admired companies

SRP has been named one of Arizona’s Most Admired Companies by AZ Business Magazine and BestCompaniesAZ. SRP was one of 50 companies honored on September 12, 2019, at the 10th-anniversary awards show, held at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Resort & Spa.

“This is the most comprehensive corporate awards program in Arizona,” says Denise Gredler, CEO of BestCompaniesAZ and co-founder of the Most Admired Companies award program. “These winners are joining a prestigious group of employers who greatly impact the state of our economy. We are grateful for their contributions to the community and making Arizona one of the best places to live and work in the U.S.”

The winning ingredients

Arizona’s Most Admired Companies excel in 5 key areas: Leadership Excellence, Workplace Culture, Corporate & Social Responsibility, Customer Opinion and Innovation.

To earn its award, SRP submitted responses for each section, outlining initiatives such as its 2035 Sustainability Goals and innovative programs like the Field Area Network (FAN). It also highlighted the company’s commitment to its workplace culture, having been named one of Forbes’ best large U.S. employers two years running.

“This recognition is a direct reflection of the daily contributions of a 5,000-strong SRP workforce.”

Renee castillo, senior director, human resources

She continues, “We work hard to provide a great place for our employees to do their best work and are grateful for the chance to share this recognition with them.”

Community impact

The award also recognized SRP’s wider impact in the community.

SRP employs a workforce of more than 5,000, and contributes to the region’s economy through programs including Supplier Diversity.

Timothy Herchold, Sr. Analyst Customer Services says, “SRP dedicates a lot of resources to make doing business with us easier. I’m proud to work for a company that does right by its customers.”

Beyond economic impact there is community impact. In 2018, SRP gave $3,618,157 in monetary and in-kind contributions to 358 organizations. SRP employees themselves donated $1.3 million through the employee-giving boosters initiative.

A future that lives up to the past

Today, SRP employees are hard at work – as they are every day – safely delivering water and power to the region.

While the recognition is appreciated, the work is never done, and SRP will continue to innovate, drive customer satisfaction, and lead toward a bright future for the people of Arizona.

“SRP has deep roots in Arizona, and this award reflects our commitment to this state, its economy, and most of all, its people,” said Tina Drews, Director of Talent Management, who accepted the award on SRP’s behalf. “We are grateful for the honor, and to the employees who made it possible.”
