The Dave Thomas Foundation ranked SRP No. 86 nationally overall on its 2018 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces list and third in the nation in the Energy and Utilities category.
Von Wiegen, who loves the outdoors, was one of many SRP customers who signed up for the Trees for Change program during the Arizona Cardinals regular season and was entered for a chance to win autographed gear from the team. SRP’s eight-man team continues to work on directing restoration efforts in the Carolina region of Puerto Rico, along with three team members from Austin Energy. The team had heard in advance from coworkers, relatives and friends that the damage to the island was extensive, but it has been worse than what they’d seen on the news — even three months after the hurricane.
SRP is helping to lead and coordinate efforts to rebuild Puerto Rico’s power grid in the wake of Hurricane Maria’s devastation. In collaboration with two employees from Austin Energy, SRP is providing one of seven 10-person regional Incident Management Teams (IMTs) for the next two months on behalf of the American Public Power Association.
